When I think of garlic, I automatically think of delicious, warm, butter covered garlic bread, but there are countless ways to use garlic that are heavenly.  Would you believe that you can put garlic in chocolate chip cookies and it tastes yummy?  I tried a sample garlic chocolate chip cookie thanks to a local garlic grower one time and couldn't believe how good it was!

If you're curious about everything garlic or just love, food, music and fun, then the 13th Annual Susquehanna Valley Garlic Festival in Milford, NY is just the thing for you.  It all takes place this Saturday, September 21st from 10am to 5pm at Woodbull Antiques, right on Route 28 in Milford.

You'll find of course all things garlic including braiding demonstrations to growing tips starting at 11am.  You'll also enjoy various food offerings, vendors with locally grown garlic, shallots, onions, leeks, sweets and more.  Enjoy live music by the Montback Brothers from 10am to noon, The Gravel Yard Blues Band from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, and Mary Dorrity from 3pm to 5pm.  Bring the kids because there will be button making, face painting and a scavenger hunt with prizes.  It's definitely a fun way to spend a Saturday but don't take my word for it, listen in as I talk to Lucia Phillips of Dismal Inn Sugar Company from Hartwick, NY, about the event.
