If you've needed to get a COVID-19 test within the last month, then you know that it's not easy as easy to get tested right away due to the surge in cases. While you're waiting for your COVID test appointment, that's just extra time that you need to quarantine and it can be very frustrating. Here's some good news on testing availability...

An initiative by Governor Hochul's office to increase the availability of COVID tests has resulted in the opening of a new COVID-19 testing site in Milford, NY starting this Wednesday. The site is located at the American Legion Post at 86 West Main Street. This testing site is one of 13 opening across the state where there is a high need for testing.

The kind of tests to be offered will be the RT-PCR testing, Rapid antigen, and rapid PCR tests. The last two types of tests may not be available on opening day, December 29.

OPEN DAYS/HOURS:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am to noon.

It's not known how the Milford testing site will remain open. The Governor's plan includes a weekly re-evaluation of areas with COVID spikes and sites will be open where the need is greatest. Additional testing sites are being planned and you can keep up to date on where the COVID test sites are here.
