Here's a first for Millennials, those between ages of 18 and 34: they are eating out less than they ever have.  In fact, roughly once a week less than the same age group’s eating habits in 2007, according to a report from NPD Group.  “This is a shift of biblical proportions for the restaurant industry,” said Harry Balzer, chief industry analyst at researcher NPD Group, which surveyed 2,400 adults 18 to 34 nationwide.

Millennials will eat out 202 times annually this year versus 252 times a year for their age group back in 2007. Not only are adults 35 to 49 going out to eat more than Millennials, but so are adults older than age 50.  My theory on this is because young people have less money now and those who are older are no doubt sick of cooking and enjoy eating out.  It's a way to spoil themselves.  I can't believe how often Millenials are still eating out, an average of 202 times per year?  I don't know about you but I probably eat out only a couple of times per month and out of those two times, one time is takeout because it's cheaper.
