Touching the Bases with Nate Eastman in the NYCBL

My name is Nate Eastman, I am an Oneonta High School graduate. I have just finished up my sophomore year at Finger Lake Community College.

This season at Finger Lake Community College I received the Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year.  This summer will be my second year playing for the Sherrill Silversmiths of the  New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) as a pitcher and first basemen.

Last summer I was a last-minute replacement to the team before the start of their season as a relief pitcher.  By the middle of the season I was able to crack the starting rotation with a 2-2 record with 30 innings pitched.

This summer will have an exciting twist with the NYCBL's new addition of the Oneonta Outlaws coached by my former high school coach, Joe Hughes.

This is a very exciting opportunity for me with the chance to play on the field where I spent countless summers admiring the professional players of the Oneonta Tigers and the Oneonta Yankees. This summer I will be sharing my experiences during the grind and excitement of playing summer collegiate baseball.
