We didn’t finish our season the way would have liked to after we lost the last 2 games of the season to the Syracuse Junior Chiefs.  We ended up finishing the season with the record 16-24 leaving us in 9th place for the season.  We ended up 5 games out of a playoff spot, which may sound like a lot but I can think of about ten games this season where the games could have gone either way and we just

After beating the Syracuse Saltcats in dramatic fashion we tried build off the excitement to try to make it to make the play off push.  We had to win the next 7 of 8 games to keep our playoff hopes alive.  We started off the game with a couple of wins against the Outlaws extending our streak to 3 wins and needing the next 5 out of 6 games make it to the dance...

Winding down our summer with our last stretch of games being four double headers in four days.  The next six games we will be playing the Oneonta Outlaws who are currently fighting for a first place spot in the division. We are currently fighting for the sixth spot and a birth into the playoffs...

Today the NYCBL is hosting their annual All Star Game at Mcdoughn Park in Geneva New York.  The event will feature the league’s All-Star luncheon, Major League Baseball scout day, League Home Run Derby and All-Star Game. While dodging raindrops through the past 6 days, we were able to squeeze in 3 games before approaching the midpoint of our season. It’s been an unusual summer here in New York with the amount of rainfall. All the teams in the NYCBL have at least 10 make up games left on the schedule, leaving most of our remaining games doubleheaders.  Doubleheader games are two nine innings games back to back mak

After a hard rain during the third inning both our double headers were called off yesterday. Since we did not reach the 5th inning of those games we will have to start the game over. We now will have a double header tomorrow June 26 and another double-header later in the season to make up those games...

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here as I spent the last week on the road in western New York playing The Geneva Twins, Geneva Redwings, and the Rochester Ridgemen.  We certainly have had quite a few extra-inning thrillers this past week...

So far the Silversmiths have been able to turn turn around our 0-4 record to 4-4, leaving us with a 4 game game win streak. We still have some things we have to work at but it's been pretty awesome to watch how we have been playing as a team.  We have been having great starts lately from our pitching staff.
