Every Spring one of Oneonta's best community events comes around to support Otsego County teens making good decisions.  April 7, 2019 marks the 21st Annual SADD Strides for Safety 5K Run/Walk.  This event is a collaborative effort including the SADD Committee, Otsego County STOP-DWI, and Clark Sports Center.  It's held in conjunction with a free Health Fair at the Oneonta High School and aims to raise awareness and funds to support local participating SADD chapters, helping kids make healthy decisions.

Funding is typically used for school organized after prom parties and educational SADD programs.  The Oneonta High School SADD Chapter started this event which now involves and supports several area schools.

The race starts on East Street and ends at the Oneonta High School on April 7 at 1:00 p.m.  Race registration begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Oneonta High School, held in conjunction with a free community health fair which goes from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m in the school gym. The early registration deadline is March 22 with a $15 fee.  After that, the fee increases to $25.  To find out more or register for this event visit www.itsyourrace.com.

The Health Fair, held in the Oneonta High School gym will feature over 30 exhibitors with fun activities, including face painting and games, and plenty of health and wellness related information.
