Beloved Former OHS Teacher and Principal Dies

One of Oneonta's legendary teachers has died. William R. “Bud” Pirone, 81, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13 at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta. A former history teacher at Oneonta High School, he later became Principal. He also helped found the Oneonta Alumni Association and coached tennis. Arrangements are pending with the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
