Imagine being a high school senior this year with nothing to look forward to except the end of this coronavirus pandemic, when life can resume again in some sort of semi-normal fashion. Because our Oneonta High School seniors are missing out on all the fun traditions a high school senior has always had an opportunity to enjoy but can't this year, Michelle Catan, and other OHS parents have created a Gofundme called "OHS Senior Class of 2021" to raise money to give back to OHS seniors in creative ways.

The goal is to raise $5000 to reward all 140 class members and show them that their community cares. As it currently stands, the amount total raised is at $1505. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!

According to the creators of this idea...

Our goal would be to start showering our seniors with HOPE as soon as possible. With your support, we will make sure the OHS Class of 2021 seniors have some memories (although different) to look back on during this trying time. Each and everyone is losing so many of these once in a lifetime memories. As a group, we can work together and help give them some memories in a creative way, that when they all look back at this crazy time, they will be so thankful this group and community gave them the opportunity to still have some special memories! We appreciate any financial donations you are able to give to help GIVE HOPE to the Senior Class of 2021.

It doesn't matter if you are the parent or relative of an OHS High School senior, anyone who's ever enjoyed all the fun activities that being a senior in high school brings like prom, sports, clubs, homecoming, pep rallies, and fun memories spent with friends; can understand ALL that these kids are missing out on. They are struggling to just make it through to the end of the school year! That's NOT what we want for them.

To show your support of OHS seniors, visit the Gofundme page "OHS Senior Class of 2021" and make a donation. If money is tight, you can volunteer your time to help with ideas and planning activities for the kids. To volunteer or share ideas, contact Organizer Michelle Catan through the Gofundme page.
