It's time to satisfy your curiosity and take a very interesting tour of Downtown Oneonta, NY's upper floors of historic buildings this Sunday, September 15th from 1 to 4pm.  The Greater Oneonta Historical Society and the Mainstreet Oneonta organization are sponsoring this rare peek at different properties including:

  • New apartments at Bresee's (never before seen!)
  • The History Center Ballroom
  • Stevens Hardware's 2nd floor
  • The Masonic Temple
  • 164 Main St.
  • The loft space above Key Bank
  • The Oneonta Hotel's 5th floor
  • 219-225 Main St.

I have gone on past tours of some of the locations mentioned above and I can personally tell you that the buildings and stories are fascinating. It's definitely worth your time to do this tour if you have any interest in Oneonta's unique history.  The beauty is, since it's a self-guided tour, you can go at your own place, and linger where you want.

Bob Bryzowski of GOHS and Red Caboose Restaurant owner, Tim Masterjohn joined me in the studio to talk about this exciting tour opportunity and provide more details on it.  Listen below.

Tickets are $8 day of or $7 in advance which you can get at the Oneonta History Center, on the corner of Main and Deitz Streets.  For more information go to OneontaHistory.org or call the Oneonta History Center at (607) 432-0960.
