A website that dedicates itself to helping people determine the best cities in America gave incredibly high praise to our very own Albany.  In fact, in their most recent rankings of the "Top 100 Places to Live in America" Albany doesn't just make the cut, it was ranked in the top 20, landing at #16.  Here's how Livability.com came to their conclusion.

In the most recent rankings of the top 100 cities to live in America, the website Livability.com ranked Albany quite high; a stellar #16.   How did they come to their conclusion?  They judged each small to mid-sized city based on things like affordability, opportunity, safety, and community. It was also important in their grading system to determine if people who live there are able to work remotely, giving residents the opportunity to live pretty much anywhere throughout the Capital Region.

The survey - now in it's 7th year - mentioned  that the events that unfolded in 2020 has made for an unusual year to say the least and that people are "reevaluating where they want to live."

Livability.com "analyzed more than 1,000 small to mid-sized cities on factors like safety, affordability, economic stability, outdoor recreation, accessibility, community engagement." They determined that Albany is affordable, attractive for immigrants, and offers quality jobs that don't necessarily require a college degree.

In their assessment, they cited places like Uncommon Grounds, The Bull Moose Club, The New York State Museum, Albany Pine Bush, and Jack's Oyster House as some of Albany's best attributes.
