Senator James Seward was at the Davenport town hall on Monday morning for a meeting to discuss what can be done to help with future flood prevention and mitigation. Senator Seward discussed some of the money that is available.

“To some federal money that has come into the state -- $44 million – we have added another $16 million to that,” Seward said. “So about $60 million of state and federal money have been identified for flood mitigation projects to help with some of the immediate concerns.”

Seward said it is important to identify funding on the federal and state level to protect people, property and public infrastructure.
