NYSEG Asks Consumers To Conserve Energy
NYSEG is asking its customers to conserve energy during this extended period of high heat and thunderstorms. The utility company said in a statement that they have taken measures to protect the electric grid and have workers ready to go should any issues arise on Independence Day. Conservation measures you can take include keeping drapes or curtains in front of windows and doors closed so heat isn’t let inside, also delay tasks like laundry or running a dishwasher until evening hours when demand on the grid is less. Call 1.800.572.1131 to report outages, downed power lines or other hazardous situations.
