Days after a power outage affecting more than 100,000 New York customers, NYSEG is preparing to raise its electricity rates again.

The Oneonta division of NYSEG which provides service in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Greene, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Otsego, Schoharie, and Ulster counties, has provided an update on the large-scale damage to power lines and utility poles

NYSEG says about 100-thousand customers lost electricity when a late Spring snow storm struck our area. NYSEG says crews are working as fast as possible to restore electricity to affected areas.

A severe rainstorm with high winds ripped through Chenango, Delaware, Otsego Counties, and beyond last night with many NYSEG customers still without power this morning.
