Here is great news for Chenango County residents struggling with substance and alcohol abuse. Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties, which has been serving in Chenango County for a while now, in addition to Delaware and Otsego Counties, has announced that this important non-profit organization is officially expanding its services in Chenango County with a new Turning Point location at 24 East Main Street in Norwich, NY.

The date of a grand opening has yet to be released but FOR-DO officials say that it will be the home of FOR-DO's Rural Recovery Development Opportunities and Career Services Program (RR-DOCS). The latter program is geared toward helping people 18 to 64 either seeking recovery or currently in recovery, to engage in support services offered by FOR-DO, which includes employment/career help.

Related to employment opportunities for those in recovery, FOR-DO is seeking to connect with businesses that are willing to become a Recovery Friendly Workplace,  which supports those in recovery. Any business looking to find out more about this can contact Deborah Roberts at 607-287-8518.

FOR-DO currently has locations at 22 Elm St. in Oneonta and at 84 Main St. in Delhi.

The Norwich location is a wonderful and important addition for Chenango County residents struggling with addiction so that they have the opportunity to get the services they need to support their recovery.
