The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it’s joining with law enforcement agencies across the country participating in the US Drug Enforcement Agency take back day. On Saturday, April 28 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. deputies will be collecting expired or unwanted prescription drugs at the sheriff’s office on County Highway 33W. Proper disposal of expired & unwanted prescription drugs helps prevent pill abuse and theft. The Sheriff’s Office also has a prescription drug drop box in its lobby open to the public daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Bassett Healthcare is joining in this effort by inviting people to drop off their unused or expired medications all this week, through Saturday at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, Foxcare Pharmacy at the Foxcare Center in Oneonta, and O'Connor Hospital in Delhi.  This event is free and no questions will be asked.  For more information visit Bassett Healthcare Network's facebook page.
