Are You an Oreo Dunker? [Poll]
Why all the fuss over Oreos? Well, Oreo cookie just celebrated its 101st birthday. Here are some very interesting Oreo facts:
1. I bet you're wondering where the name "Oreo" came from? As it turns out, no on knows for sure. Some believe it was derived from the French word for gold, “or,” because its original packaging was mostly gold. Others believe that the word oreo comes from the Greek word for mountain, perhaps because the test version of the cookie had a hill-like shape. They obviously ditched that shape idea.
2. The Oreo is the world's best-selling cookie. In fact, you'll find Oreos in more than 100 countries.
2. When Oreos were first sold, (they came out in 1912) they were sold by weight and cost 30 cents per pound.
3. The Oreo became kosher in 1998. The original recipe called for pork fat which was a key ingredient in the creme filling and not so kosher friendly.
4. I bet you didn't know that how you eat your Oreo reveals your personality. According to eatoutwell.com, dunkers tend to be adventurous and social; twisters are sensitive, artistic and trendy; and biters are easy-going and self-confident.
Now let's find out what kind of personality you are.
