Hostess Brands, Inc. has been forced by a Bakers Union strike to shut down all operations and sell all company assets, causing concern for Twinkie lovers everywhere that the tasty treat would cease to exist.  Just imagine, no fried Twinkies at the Fair any more!

Twinkies have been a part of American culture since 1930 and it seems that you can relax because experts say that Hostess is likely to find a buyer because of the brand's power in the industry.  Hostess Brands Inc. will be a in bankruptcy courtroom on today to start the process of selling itself.   It's quite conceivable that they can sell the name and recipe for Twinkies to a company that wants to make them," said John Pottow, a University of Michigan Law School professor who specializes in bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, people are trying to cash in on the announcement by selling packages of Twinkies at inflated prices on eBbay.  Earlier this weekend, a 10-pack of Twinkies was available on eBay for $24.99. Four 10-packs were listed for $99.99 on the online retailer’s website.  Isn't that crazy?  Who would pay that for Twinkies?  I'm sure someone will.
