Well, it's official: the holiday shopping season has begun.  I don't know if you noticed (you'd have to live under a rock) but as soon as Halloween was over, out came all the holiday decor and related products in stores.  Retailers don't waste any time do they?  I think their philosophy is, "the earlier we put it out, the more they'll buy" and it just might be working because according to the National Retail Federation, holiday sales are expected to rise 3.9% and have been rising consistently for a few years.

Personally, I don't care how early stores put out the holiday decorations, I'm not mentally prepared to shop for gifts until November hits.  How about you?
