Yesterday, I was walking through Wilber Park and ended up at the Oneonta Water Treatment facility, next to the High School.  Much to my surprise, I was greeted by a pair of giant backhoes which had carved a large swath down the hill from the plant and right down into Wilber Park.

My imagination tried very hard to come up with a likely cause for this and couldn't muster any ideas, probably because I was upset with the landscape damage to a park I hold near and dear to my heart. I'll have to do some digging (no pun intended) and come up with the answer why this is happening.
