Listen up job seekers, there is one rule of thumb to always follow when it comes to job interviews: dress for success.  We've heard that for the longest time and it still applies today according to the results of a new survey of hiring managers by human resources consulting company AdeccoAccording to this survey, the biggest mistake young adults make on a job interview is wearing inappropriate clothing. The poll said fashion faux pas were the biggest mistake, followed by "compromising content" on social media sites, and lack of research on the prospective position.

The survey by Adecco also uncovered behaviors at work that are frowned upon:

- 49% of us are offended when people clip or bite their nails at work
- 43% of us are offended when people take their shoes off in their workspace
- 27% of us are offended when people wear outfits where you can see their tattoos
- 27% of us are offended when people put on make-up or brush their hair at work
