Have you gotten your costume situated? Halloween is literally a WEEK away. What are you waiting for? Maybe you need some simple inspiration. I've got that right here for you. I polled Google's Frightgeist for the top costumes in our area, and here's what it gave me.
For 2023, Barbie costumes will be the undisputed champion. Not only is it top in New York, it's the number one costume nationwide. Expect to see a blur of pink darkening your doorstep this Halloween.
This is a tried and true classic. Just about every little girl everywhere has dressed up as a princess for Halloween at some point. Many times, it's already part of a kid's dress up repertoire. Easy peasy!
Another perennial favorite. I'm pretty sure all of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s have super awkward photos in some kind of Spider-Man getup, and it keeps getting passed down the generations. Spidey is here to stay apparently.
Witch costumes have been worn on Halloween since the advent of trick or treating. Look back at old pictures, and you'll see children dressed as ghosts and witches. It's probably because it's super easy to throw together, even if you make your own clothes.
5. Wednesday Addams
This is a personal favorite. I'm a total Tim Burton nerd, and loved this series. I can't wait to see all the kids who dressed up as Wednesday this year. There's bound to be some serious creativity when it comes to this one!
