The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created in 1980 to oversee the facilities associated with the Olympics. They continue to make sure the facilities are purposefully reimagined to keep the communities and mountains enticing. Now they are involved in making a new ride at Gore mountain, the largest in the state.
The Olympic Games are finally being held after a year of delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. Several athletes representing Team USA from New York State come from Central New York, including Syracuse, Fayetteville, Watkins Glen, and Ithaca.
