Non-Profit Spotlight

Opportunities for Otsego is one of the areas longest-running non-profit organizations, dedicated to helping the poor, needy and victims of domestic violence in Otsego County. It also the winner of our non-profit spotlight with 65% of the public votes, which netted the non-profit a $2,000 advertising package.

Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care "provides the very best care for patients and families dealing with a serious, progressive illness. Our sole purpose is to make life easier for everyone involved. We understand what our families are experiencing and our team of professionals provides the support and guidance they want and need."

The Oneonta Family YMCA provides physical fitness options for adults as well as plenty of youth programs and activities. It is one of our three spotlighted non-profits in the community with a chance to win a $2,000 advertising package with Townsquare Media.

Opportunities for Otsego will hold an open house from 9 a.m. until noon on Friday, June 29.

It's always a good feeling to give back to a local charity or non-profit which so often in the year quietly changes lives. They generally don't look for publicity and aren't in the charity business for fame or money. They exist to help and we are dedicating the following month to helping them...
