Would you ever believe that the amount of times a person blinks could determine whether or not they defeat someone?  Apparently that's the case according to Joseph Tecce, a Boston College psychophysiologist  who has spent decades studying the body language of presidential candidates and believes he's got this upcoming election's winner picked out.

Tecce claims that the candidate who blinks more during debates has lost every election but one since 1980.

- The lone exception was in 2000, when a faster-blinking George W. Bush bested Al Gore in the electoral college, but lost the popular vote.

- In the last presidential election, Obama blinked 62 times per minute, and he whooped John McCain who blinked 104 times per minute. Says Professor Tecce: if you blink 100 times a minute, you will lose an election. Based on his analysis of the current candidates’ most-recent convention speeches, Romney is blinking less at 33 times a minute, while Obama blinked 41 times a minute.

If you want, you can play along with the blink counting while watching the Presidential Debate with President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney tomorrow night at 9pm.  The topic will be Domestic policy.    The Moderator will be Jim Lehrer (Host of NewsHour on PBS).
