How often do you shower?  I shower six days a week on average.  It not only wakes me up after getting up way too early each morning but it just feels good and I like feeling freshly washed.  My kids are the opposite.  It's a chore to get them in the shower and they just don't understand why they need to shower more than twice a week.  My reply is always that "It's part of good hygiene and it's good for you".  Well, it turns out I could be wrong.

I came upon this article that points out the potential HARM in being too clean. Is it possible to be too clean?  Soap does wash away oil that your skin produces to protect itself not only from drying out, but from harmful bacteria and viruses.  It makes sense that washing those oils away everyday could have a negative impact.  Those with skin conditions like eczema already know this.

If you think about it, the concept of bathing more than once a week is fairly new in our history.  Most countries don't bath remotely as often as we Americans do, preferring to load up on colognes and other odor masking products.  Maybe they are on to something?
