Save Your Water Dunked Phone With Rice

Have you ever dropped your phone in the water?  Many have had to deal with this and I did yesterday.  My husband took the kids to do a creek walk yesterday.  They were all fully prepared, complete with a phone - just in case.  Well, after encountering some unexpected deep water, the phone took a nice dunk.  When everyone arrived home soaking wet, along with the drenched phone, I immediately took the battery cover off and took the battery out.  Then I proceeded to dry the phone off as well as possible with paper towels.  At that point, I put the phone in a bowl full of dry rice, completely surrounding it.  We'd heard of that trick through a friend. After having it in the rice all night the moment of truth came this morning and miracle of miracles, it works!  Remember that trick if your phone ever decides to go for a swim.  Needless to say, the less time it spends in the water, the greater the chance of the phone's recovery.
