A new Quinnipiac poll released this week showed Hillary Clinton has a strong backing in some of the early campaign states, like Iowa, where 41 percent of voters say they would support the former Secretary of State and First Lady.

Similarly, 41 percent said they would support New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

The poll also reflected an edge for Clinton in a hypothetical election against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. She held a 46-39 percent edge. Christie edged Vice President Joe Biden, 49-32 percent, in the same hypothetical scenario.

President Barack Obama's approval rating in the Hawkeye State dipped four points to 41 percent. Fifty-five percent of Iowa voters said they disapprove of his work as president.
