Plaintiffs Win Two NYC Labor Cases, $2.25 Million in Restitution
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Thursday the distribution of $2.25 million in two separate labor cases.
In one case 306 current and former employees of Flat Rate Movers, a multi-state moving and storage company with headquarters in New York City are being paid $1.13 million in restitution.
In the 2nd case, about 100 employees of Mystique Clothing stores in New York City are now receiving restitution as part of a $950,000 settlement.
Flat Rate Movers workers were not paid for overtime hours and were charged for illegal deductions.
At Mystique Clothing stores, employees were paid below minimum wage and did not get paid for overtime hours.
