New York Solicitor General Barbara Underwood is now the state’s acting attorney general. According to the Attorney General's Office, Underwood was sworn in Tuesday after Eric Schneiderman resigned following allegations of physical abuse published by the New Yorker magazine. In a statement Underwood says she is honored to serve the people of New York as acting Attorney General adding that the work of this office has never been stronger, and this extraordinarily talented, dedicated, and tireless team of public servants will ensure that their work continues without interruption.
