When we think of summer, we think of sunshine, swimming and family fun.  We don't think about filling up local food pantries since we're too busy concentrating on everything else.  That's the very reason the Oneonta Salvation Army food pantry is extremely low and in need of restocking.  Last month they assisted close to 250 families.  With school being out of session, the demand on the food pantry is great.

Please donate non perishable food items to the food bank.  Here are some suggestions:

(Please no glass containers)

Cereal
Potatoes (instant or canned)
Peanut Butter
Juice
Spaghetti and Spaghetti sauce
Pasta

Bring items to the Salvation Army at 25 River Street, Oneonta.  Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted.  Mail checks to that same address and please write "Food pantry" on the check.  Any help is appreciated!
