Once in a while, you really stumble upon something that REALLY matters, you know, a life changer, or at least major influence about how you live your life.  That happened for me when I came across an article from Ariseindiaforum.org.  The article featured the observations of a palliative care nurse and common regrets expressed by dying patients over her many years taking care of them.  The following regrets are the most common ones expressed.

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This is certainly food for thought and does make one consider how they're living their life.  Here's one of my favorite quotes about regret that I think says it all:

I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.
