It’s Official: SUNY Delhi Is Now A Full NCAA Division III Sports Member
SUNY Delhi’s athletics department has been working for four years to become a full-fledged member of NCAA Division III and it has finally happened. Previously, the athletics program was only able to compete in junior college competitions so this brings SUNY Delhi athletics into a more competitive sports arena.

The new official designation will take effect this September 1. The college had been a provisional member of NCAA Div. III since the 2018-2019 season. As a full member of that sports division, Delhi's athletes can participate in NCAA championships and the college will also have a vote at the association’s convention.
To achieve NCAA Division III designation is a big deal for the Broncos since there are more than 180,000 student-athletes competing at 450 different institutions to make up Division III. That sports division is the largest one in the NCAA which makes it very competitive. That higher level of competition pushes athletes to help them achieve their full potential in sports but also in life.
