Hartwick College To Present Lecture on Conspiracy Theories & How They Spread
With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed that conspiracy theorists came out of the woodwork to challenge either how the virus came about and spread or its actual existence. For those of us whose glass tends to be half-full, it can be difficult to follow pessimistic views of a conspiracy theorist, let alone understand where they are coming from.
With that said, Assistant Professor of Sociology Dr. Ryan Ceresola will be presenting a lecture on Sunday, January 24 at 7 p.m called Hartwick College Presents Conspiracy Theories and You. This online lecture will help in understanding conspiracy rhetoric, how conspiracy theories spread, and how to challenge conspiracist thought in America. The talk will also include guidance on how to identify modern conspiracy theories, and suggest ways to discuss and challenge conspiratorial thinking today.
