U.S. Senator Kirstin Gillibrand and Congressman Richard Hanna will be holding a press conference today at Chobani headquarters to announce their support for the re-classification of Greek yogurt under the USDA’s My Plate nutrition guidelines.

The two want Greek yogurt to be differentiated from regular yogurt because it has twice as much protein and is a good source of calcium.

The health benefit of Greek yogurt would allow the inclusion of Greek yogurt in the national school lunch program, saving school systems money and providing wholesome meals for children.
