This past weekend, I took a trip down to Philadelphia, PA to see a friend and decided that to date, it's my favorite city to visit.

Now this may come as a surprise, since Philly is only four and a half hours away from Oneonta, but I had only been to Philadelphia twice in my life -- once as a kid, where we hit all the historic highlights, and then as an adult with my family.

The last time with my family, my husband and I only had an afternoon to explore with the kids and the only thing we had time to do was go to the Franklin Institute, which is a great, hands on, science oriented children's museum. We loved it!

But until this weekend, I really hadn't had an opportunity to explore Philadelphia properly.

Well, I found out quickly that the "City of Brotherly Love" lives up to its friendly moniker. I found people to be very friendly and the city to be clean, beautiful and fun to explore. My friend and I walked everywhere we went. With all the one way streets, it was just easier to get around by foot.

In Philly, I found out about some very unique tours that I saw in progress and wanted to join in on in the future: one of which was a tour aboard a Segway from Detours. A Segway is that funny looking vehicle pictured above. It goes up to 15 miles per hour which makes it super fun to zip around the city and enjoy different themed tours. I am definitely doing that next time I visit!

Other unique tours I discovered include, "Ride the Ducks Philadelphia" for families which takes people in a vehicle that goes on land and water (The Delaware River). How fun!

For those who love food, there's a Philly cheese steak tour and even a Junk Food Tour.  Plus for those who love history and ghosts, you get to enjoy a ghost tour of historic sites. There truly is something for everyone in Philadelphia and I highly recommend visiting.
