You'd be surprised what kind of information you can find out about your relationship with your partner just from how you literally sleep together.  A new British study of 2,000 couples found that 46% of couples turn away and sleep with their backs to their partners every night. Experts say they have an intimate relationship.  Surprising isn't it?  Doesn't sound intimate.  There are of course different ways of sleeping back to back so let's take a look at what those positions mean...

  • 28% of couples sleep back to back but are not touching in the "liberty position.  Experts say that indicates that a couple is connected but independent enough to sleep separately.
  • 18% of back to back sleepers use the "Cherish" position, sleeping back to back but touching. These couples are comfortable, intimate, and relaxed with each other, experts say.
  • Other positions that experts weighed in on included spooning, face-to-face, intertwining and more.

My husband and I sleep in the "Liberty Bell" position for practical reasons because I like it cool at night.  How about you?  What position do you sleep in with your partner each night?  Tell us on facebook.
