Are you tone-deaf?  Believe it or not, there's a clinical term for it.  It's called "amusia". Daniel J. Levitin, Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at McGill University in Montreal, says normal people have some musical ability - if they hear a piece of music and there's a missed note, they would know there was something wrong. Amusics can't tell.
