Feel free to call me old fashioned on this one because there are some things that you shouldn't combine with computers and potty training is one of those things.  I love that old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" because I think that applies here.

I'm referring to a potty training product that I stumbled upon called the "2-in-1 iPotty.  It keeps little Johnny or Suzy busy while they sit on the potty.  It sounds like a dream come true...at first.  It is of course designed to keep your child sitting on that toilet seat long enough to answer to the call of nature without getting up because the kid is just plain bored.  And it might just work like a charm BUT...(there's always a but) I can imagine children who use this to become potty trained, associating going to the bathroom with playing on the tablet, creating yet another weird, technology causing disorder or at the very least, having multiple potty accidents when randomly playing on their tablet in other situations where they are NOT supposed to be going to the bathroom.  Ooops!

You can bet your bottom dollar that if this had existed when I was potty training my kids that I never would have gone down the iPotty road!  We just gave our kids little toddler books to keep them occupied and guess what?  It worked like a charm to keep them on the potty for long enough to get the job done.
