I guess it was only a matter of time before someone thought of talking shoes: footwear that tells to get up and get moving.  I guess America's lack of will power to move has come down to a shoe.

Now you might think that one of the major shoe manufacturers would have come up with this idea, but in fact, Google is is the company now developing sneakers that literally do the talking.  You wouldn't believe how much they have to cram into a sneaker to do this:  a small computer, an accelerometer, a pressure sensor, a gyroscope, speaker and Bluetooth. What this collectively does is produce a sneaker that can tell what you are doing and then relay that information to your phone via Bluetooth or to a speaker in the top tongue of the shoe. It could serve as a fitness tool to help get you motivated to move more.

Let's say for example that you're at work and you've been sitting at your desk for an hour without getting up.  Your shoes might tell you to get up and walk around.  Or, if you happen to be a Superstar athlete and you're wearing that footwear, the shoes could automatically update that person's social media accounts with information about how fast they were moving.

My question is, are we all that pathetic about exercise that we really want our shoes yelling at us to move?  I don't know about you but I have a feeling I would be ripping my shoes off and throwing them against the wall after being very annoyed at being badgered to exercise.  No thanks Google, you can keep your obnoxious talking shoes.
