What's in a name?  More money.  At least that's what the beef and pork industries are hoping.  They want to increase sales so they are renaming over 350 meat cut names to make them sound more appetizing.

Here are some examples:

- "Boston Roast" will be the new name for Pork butt.  Thank goodness!  That needed a new name desperately.

- A pork chop is no longer just a pork chop, it will now be called "porterhouse chops," "ribeye chops" and "New York chops."

-  "Flatiron steak" is the new moniker for a boneless shoulder top blade steak.

- "Denver Steak" is actually a beef under-blade boneless steak.

Would these new names make you buy more meat?  I guess that remains to be seen. If you ask me, a pork chop is still a pork chop no matter what you call it.  It's tough and usually dry unless you really know how to cook it.
