Terminated Delaware County Employee Loses Challenge To Firing

The terminated Commissioner of Delaware County Social Services has lost a challenge to her firing. Dana Scuderi-Hunter objected to the 2019 findings of an independent hearing officer that she should be terminated following charges of misconduct, insubordination, and child endangerment. In June of 2020, Scuderi-Hunter filed to annul the hearing officer’s recommendations and sought reinstatement claiming among other issues legal errors were made and there were conflicts of interest. A NY State Supreme Court judge denied Scuderi-Hunter’s claims and ordered the matter to proceed.
