Super Heroes Humane Society Bridges Big Gap To Shelter Renovation Goal
Last week, we reported that Super Heroes in Ripped Jeans (SHIRJ), a rapidly growing grassroots non-profit organization based in Oneonta, NY that began in 2018 changed its name (Super Heroes Humane Society), and adopted a new logo and website to better reflect their mission to rehome pets who need it, along with keeping pets with their owners who are experiencing hardship.
This mostly volunteer-run organization has been working very hard to raise funds for its new shelter at 160 Pony Farm Road which has to be renovated to accommodate animals. Until last week, SHHS had still needed to raise at least $475,000 to begin the first phase of the renovation project. On the Super Heroes In Ripped Jeans Facebook page, an announcement was made that the fundraising amount needed has been greatly reduced thanks to a $$440,347 grant from the Companion Animal Capital Fund administered by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. The new fundraising goal for the humane society is way down to $40,000 now which will get SHHS to the final fundraising goal for phase 1 of $625,000 to cover the first phase of the renovation project. The first phase will include communal cat rooms, a room housing cat condos, double-compartment dog kennels, a surgery suite, and a room for dog visits with potential adopters.
To help SHHS with this goal, you can donate to its capital campaign "Super PAWSabilities" or you can simply send a check to:
It goes without saying that Super Heroes Humane Society is really looking forward to being fully in its new location in Oneonta so that they can concentrate on just helping pets in need.
