Bassett Healthcare Network is partnering with New York State to staff the COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic at SUNY Oneonta which opens tomorrow (Friday, March 19). It had been scheduled to open today but had to be delayed.  Bassett will deploy more than 30 clinical professionals per day, seven days a week to administer 1000 vaccines per day.

Dr. Tommy Ibrahim, President & CEO of Bassett Healthcare Network, says “This is a critical step forward for our region in the fight against COVID-19.”

New York State and the National Guard are supplementing daily staffing for administrative tasks like registration and patient navigation. Local county health departments will also support efforts with organization assistance and patient transportation.

According to a Bassett Healthcare Network release, registration is now available at www.bassett.org and New York State’s Am I Eligible site. You can get information on New York State’s vaccine eligibility criteria at covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov. Please be aware that according to Governor Cuomo's Office, as of 3/17/21 there are more groups of people eligible for the vaccine: public-facing government and public workers, not-for-profit workers who provide public-facing services to New Yorkers in need, and essential in-person building service workers. New Yorkers who qualify in these categories can make an appointment through the Am I Eligible Tool or through the NYS COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).

Here's how to sign up for your SUNY Oneonta COVID vaccine:

1. To register for available appointments, please visit www.bassett.org, where a link to the state’s portal will be available beginning on March 17, 2021. You may also visit New York State’s Am I Eligible site (New York | Covid-19 Vaccine (ny.gov) or call 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).

2. On the day of your scheduled vaccination appointment, before receiving your vaccine, complete the required online NYS COVID-19 vaccine form.

3. Please note that proof of eligibility is required at all vaccination clinics and may include an employee ID card, medical records, a letter from an employer or affiliated organization, or a paycheck stub, depending on the specific priority status. If you are eligible due to age, you should bring a form of ID (like a driver's license or passport) that includes your date of birth.
