For those wondering about the future of Stone Temple Pilots without Scott Weiland, the first clue will come later this month when the DeLeo brothers and drummer Eric Kretz perform at the MusiCares MAP Fund benefit in Los Angeles. The trio is being advertised as 'Members of Stone Temple Pilots,' lending credence to the notion that they'll be able to continue utilizing the band name without worry.

At the time Scott Weiland was ousted from STP earlier this year, he claimed that he was not able to be terminated and that details concerning the band's name would be looked into. This will be the remaining trio's first performance since their tour finale last September in Sacramento, Calif.

This year's MusiCares MAP Fund benefit takes place May 30 at Los Angeles' Club Nokia, with a star-studded lineup ready to salute this year's honorees, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and skateboard legend Tony Alva. The bill for the night includes Slash and Duff McKagan, Mix Master Mike, Tony Alva's Chicken Noodle Project and Ida Maria, along with presenters Anthony Kiedis, Mike Shinoda and Andy Dick.

The event is designed to raise funds to help musicians with addiction issues. Tickets for the show may be purchased here.
