A Chenango County man is under indictment on felony counts of murder, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with evidence in connection with the 2019 disappearance of a Unadilla man.

New York State Police say 36-year-old William Sabines Junior of Preston was arrested following an investigation into the disappearance of 44-year-old Jesse Donlin two years ago in September.

State Police had put out an advisory two years ago as they searched for Donlin, saying they wanted to check on the man’s welfare.  Authorities at the time said Donlin had connections to Binghamton, Utica and Syracuse.

There had been no follow-up information from authorities concerning the investigation or the discovery of Donlin’s body.

The news release from Troopers on Friday. December 3 announcing Sabine’s December 2nd arrest, lists among the participating agencies in the investigation the Troop C Underwater Recovery Team, the New York State Police Counter Terrorism Unit and New York State Forest Rangers.

Sabines was sent to the Chenango County Jail on a $250,000 bail.
