UPDATE: Lucas has been adopted!

Meet the Susquehanna SPCA “Pet of the Week” – his name is “Lucas”.  Each week on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 am on Classic Hits 103.1fm, Leslie Ann will host members of the Susquehanna SPCA, who will tell us all about a special dog or cat at the shelter looking for its forever home.

This week, we're excited to tell you about Lucas. He is an extremely sweet, 2-year-old dog who has had a very rough start in life. He was found abandoned in a home with his four-legged sibling, Cherokee, where they resided in crates 24/7. They had never been outside, which made them reasonably nervous about new things when they came into the Susquehanna SPCA. Cherokee was a little more outgoing and was quickly adopted, but now it's Lucas' turn!

Lucas quickly bonded to the kennel attendants at the SQSPCA and they spent extra time with him helping to build his confidence, but the shelter isn't the best environment for timid dogs. Lucas is now living his best life in a foster home with teenagers, a cat, and other dogs to play with while he waits for his furrever family to come along. His foster family says his favorite thing to do is play ball and that he loves everyone he meets once he warms up to them. As if this pup couldn't sound any better, he is housetrained and crate trained. Folks should give the SQSPCA a call to set up a time to meet Lucas.

During this month of November, a month of thanks, the SQSPCA wants to say a big "Thank You!" to everyone who has supported the shelter. They couldn't help the animals they care for without your support.
