Super Heroes Humane Society Pet of the Week

Meet the Super Heroes Humane Society Pet of the Week – her name is Lucy. He is available now for adoption from SHHS in Oneonta.

Super Heroes, Lucy needs YOU to help her find her home!

Lucy came to us with a broken pelvis, tail, and unable to walk. She had her tail amputated, her pelvis healed, and she can run and jump just fine now! She did sustain some long-term nerve damage and eats a prescription high fiber dry food to keep things moving. She asks that you give her tummy a gentle squeeze in a particular way to help her express her bladder daily. It's LITERALLY a 5-second process, and you get to touch a warm, furry kitty belly. It's incredibly easy once you get the hang of it, and we are here to get you there!

Lucy was nursing kittens when she got injured and has always been a fantastic surrogate mom to the kittens that came through her foster home. She is still full of kitten energy herself (she's almost 4 years old) and was always the first adult cat to play with them. Lucy is also SMART! She learns routines so quickly and is very food motivated. If we could get Hollywood animal trainer eyes on her, we know she'd be a star!

Lucy gets along with dogs and most cats. She never quite clicked with one of the resident cats in her foster home and her desire to cause trouble with that particular cat meant she wore out her welcome and is back in residence at the shelter.

If you are looking for a cat that is loving, funny, and full of personality, Lucy is your girl! AND.....she would do great with a kitten friend to keep her company!
