Peer-led Cancer Support Group Arrives in Oneonta [Audio]

Did you know that there are no official cancer support groups in Oneonta, NY?  Well, not until now, that is.   SUNY Oneonta employees, Lauri Arnold and Laura Emmett decided, after both receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis, that it's about time Oneonta has a cancer support group to help anyone dealing with cancer in some way, including family and caregivers, and those who have had cancer. Listen below as I talk to these two ladies about the group and how it got started.

All are invited to attend this new peer-led cancer support group which will meet every third Wednesday of the month on the SUNY Oneonta campus, in the Hunt Union's Butternut Valley room, next to Starbuck's.  The introductory meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 18th from 4pm to 5:30pm.  Every other meeting will feature a guest speaker with a health related topic.   For more information visit the Oneonta Peer-led Cancer Support Group on Facebook or contact Lauri at lauri.arnold@oneonta.edu or Laura Emmett at laura.emmett@oneonta.edu.
