An Oneonta man has been arrested in connection with a series of Downtown Oneonta burglaries.  According to AllOTSEGO, Kyle A. Ives, 29 has been taken into custody by police for stealing cash, credit cards and personal items from two homes and a vehicle in Center City. According to Police Chief Brenner, the personal items were all recovered.

City of Oneonta Police are looking for leads in a rash of burglaries at Downtown Oneonta businesses, a couple center city residences, and vehicles.  Police are not sure if the break-ins are connected or if increased drug usage is the blame.

Last week, the Oneonta animal rescue group, Super Heroes In Ripped Jeans reported

on their facebook page that they had experienced a burglary which resulted in vandalism.  The Catskill Hospice Thrift store was also a break-in victim along with three other Downtown businesses.

According to AllOTSEGO, Oneonta Police Chief Doug Brenner is asking center city residents who have "Ring Door View cams" to check video footage from early morning hours in case the video cam has captured a break-in in progress.

If you have any information, please contact the Oneonta Police Department at (607) 432-1113.
