This Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Maple Street Park in Oneonta will come alive with local musicians playing for a cause.  A Celebration of Local Musicians, now in its third year, has outgrown organizer Al Cleinman's backyard and is now a public event to benefit the Gary Johnson Memorial Music Scholarship Fund.  This fund was created by siblings Jim Johnson and Rebecca Carrington in memory of their father, Gary, who was an Oneonta fireman and working musician. The fund sends four Oneonta Middle School students and two OHS seniors each year to the New York State School Music Association Festival (NYSSMA).

Featured artists at this event: Mike Herman, JV Johnson & Friends, Steve Fabrizio & Company, the B-Siders, Blues Maneuver, and Charlie & the Roomers, along with other artists.  Admission is free but attendees are encouraged to make a free will offering that will go to the scholarship fund.
